our story
The Company
E Com Seating is a family-owned furniture manufacturer that was started in 1993 by the father and son duo Lowell and Scott Ebersole. Our primary focus is producing quality furniture for the laboratory and industrial fields with an emphasis on private labels for our partners. We also offer our Blueridge Ergonomics brand for those who do not want to private label but still want to offer our quality products.
Lowell officially retired in 2007 and Amanda Johns, Scott’s daughter, joined the company full-time in 2008, meaning three generations have worked at E Com. Some days if you look, you may see some of Scott’s grandchildren putting casters on bases.
our story
Scott's Leadership
The company has continued to grow and develop into a leading provider of furniture solutions in the laboratory, industrial, healthcare, academic, and technology sectors.
We developed our ‘Build A Chair’ app to help streamline the sales process for our partner’s sales team. Some of the chairs manufactured for our partners can be found at Google, NASA, Merck, and Columbia University and have even been seen on the TV show “Grey’s Anatomy”.
E Com moved from their original location to where they are located now on 9/11. Expanded that location in 2004 and followed by another expansion in 2020.

experience excellence
The chairs we manufacture are used from coast to coast
As well as in Canada, Mexico, and Japan by folks who work in university laboratories, doctor’s offices, NASA, Blue Origin, pharmaceutical companies, production lines, warehouses, and even tattoo parlors. Our products are durable, built to last, and easy to clean. Those qualities lend themselves to use in some pretty harsh settings – from the grimiest of manufacturing plants to the cleanest of cleanrooms.

Laboratory & Medical
Our business was specifically created to cater to the needs of distributors serving the important research laboratory space in America. In addition to needing dependable centrifuge tubes and microscopes, we knew researchers needed ergonomically friendly and easy-to-clean chairs and stools. That is still the core of our business, from wet labs to dry labs our seating solutions are purposely designed to hold up to the harsh cleaners that must be used on chairs in those environments.
General Industrial
The same qualities that make our chairs so well suited for lab spaces make them perfect for manufacturing and production spaces. Our comfortable yet durable Tractor-style Polyurethane stools are used in just about any and every setting you can dream of. Used to be Polyurethane chairs could be found in any color, as long as it was black. Not so with our Poly’s, as we produce in blue and grey in addition to the tried and true black.
Controlled Environments
Furthermore about 20% of the chairs we produce feature special materials for cleanroom or ESD Settings. Our electro-static dissipating chairs are tested to meet ANSI/ESD-STM-12.1-2013 standards. Our distributors are selling them in manufacturing or assembly settings such as the medical and electronic industries. The cleanroom chairs we manufacture to Class 100 (ISO5) and Class 10 (ISO 4) certifications. Typically they are used in pharma, aerospace, semiconductor, medical device, and public health facilities.
Office
Although not our core market, we do offer a few chairs best described as “office seating,” with mesh backs and wide seat pans for use in the conference room at work, or at home for the growing population of remote workers.
